Princess Emmerie

It's our Princess Emmerie's Birthday today... To make up for not joining the party in Morpeth last Friday, we decided to cook some dishes and celebrate with her this dinner - Yee Man's curry chicken, Jesselyn's vege with dried shrimps, Tian Mun's potato dish, Shook Hui's sausage and my deep fried beans with mince meat...
Not to forget, Xin Yeng's chocolate cake!! Cheryl and Emmerie insisted on making us lemon honey punch... XD!! Since the N&Ds are having their finals on Thursday, we left early. But of course you get birthday hug from me too! *Hugz* Happy Birthday Emmerie!

Traditional Wear

What's with the traditional wear anyway? Well, there will be a dinner on Friday - Merdeka Dinner for the Malaysians. Guess what? Being a non-Malaysian, I'm very excited too! Just because I've been staying in Malaysia for the past 17 years and Malaysia can be considered as my own country already! This Saturday, the Bara 112, 121 and 310 decided to try on the outfit we were planning to wear (subject to change). So... after a long queue for the "changing room" which in our case was Bara 121 toilet and in Jesselyn's case was the wardrobe...

*Ta-Da*

Room number: Bara 112B
Name: Chia Shook Hui
Theme: Thumbelina
Bottom line: dress consists of 3 colours - blue, green and pink. Looks just like a fairy doesn't she?

Room number: Bara 310B
Name: Yoong Sze Lin (known as Serene)
Theme: Normal formal wear, no specific theme
Bottom line: Peach colour dress borrowed from Yuen Kit. "Peace" sign was done purposely, hoping that her brother doesn't see that! XD!!

Room Number: Bara 112A
Name: Tseng Hsin-Yi (known as Cindy)
Theme: Chinese wear
Bottom line: Top borrowed from Jun Shi. Doesn't she look like those servants in chinese dramas?
"Lou Ye, yam cha~".
"Lai Lai, yam cha~".
"Xiu Ye, sek fan~".
"Xiu Je, sek fan~".
Or what Tian Mun said, "Toilet cleaner." *swt*

Room Number: Bara 121B
Name: Chee Tian Mun
Theme: Marilyn Monroe
Bottom line: Elegant nice pink dress. Eh? Is that Marilyn Monroe? O_O!!

Room Number: Bara 310A
Name: Lai Jun Shi

Bottom line: Red top from her mother. Doesn't she look like that waitress in Chinese restaurant? "Sir, would you like some peanuts?"

Room Number: Bara 121A

Bottom line: Borrowed from Kimberly. Three words - "looks like nyonya"!! XD!

That's all folks!

Confession

Took me quite long to decide whether I should make this confession or not. And guess it's very obvious what my decision was. Yes, I have a confession to make. Before beginning my confession, I HAVE TO, MUST, NEED TO apologise to those I used to make fun of. This includes Jesselyn, Albert, Kim Fei... and many more. Sorry for being so inconsiderate.

Annette has always said, "Cindy is not afraid to tell others what she wants!" In fact, no, I'm not. I always kept what I wanted to myself. I'm not good in expressing what I REALLY wanted.

So, what I REALLY want...
"Want" is a very selfish word and I prefer using "hope" or "wish".

I know people have been talking a lot behind me us.
Us? Yes, us.
I want I hope, you guys could leave us alone.

It might be fun teasing others but will you put yourselves into our shoes? It's not fun at all. Alright, I admit that I like HL but it's just the same as I like Albert, George, Kim Fei, Dai Lou... They are simply the best of the best!

I know you guys are very curious between both of us. My answer is very simple, believe or not, NOTHING! I just hope that you guys can give us a break. Don't tear our friendship apart!! Furthermore, what if he cannot find a girlfriend because of this rumour? OR his girlfriend come after me with a knife...
~>.<~ eee!! Scary!!

HL doesn't say anything doesn't mean he doesn't mind. Maybe he minds more than I do but being a gentleman, he did not say anything. You know, I'm those kind of "happy-go-lucky" person.

Sigh... it seemed never-ending. Tonight, I shall confess everything and put this to a full-stop.

There's nothing between us.
And please leave us alone.
I'm tired, exhausted and sick of this...

LSTH

LSTH stands for Life Science Theatre.
This is where we have most of our lectures on Thursdays or in fact all our lessons this few Thursdays. What is so "special" about this lecturer theatre anyway?

Do you still remember the crappy course I mentioned earlier - HUBS 2107 Mammalian Growth and Development? ALL our HUBS 2107 lectures were held there... *Bad experience*

This lecture theatre really makes me "又愛又恨" (Means love and hate)! Why?
1) Comfortable seat.
2) Dim yellow lights.
3) Cozy.
4) Just right for sleeping.

Somehow, the lighting and the comfortable seat makes me feel drowsy sometimes, depending on my concentration to the lecturers. But, god! I love this lecture theatre because it's SOOOO cozy!!

Anywayz, I couldn't concentrate on Phil Dickson's lecture this early morning. It was a 2 hour lecture ( 1 hour and 30 mins for today since he ended early). Guess Jun Shi was trying very hard to listen to him too since she was "sighing" when we get a 10 mins break in between. To be honest, I was dozing off for the last 10 or 15 mins before the 10 mins break! Hahaha... Slept late + lighting + comfortable seat = good excuse to doze off? LoLz!! It has already happened a couple of times this semester. Thinking twice, maybe it wasn't because of the lecture theatre but the course itself. I nearly doze off during Monday's Bioinformatics in SRLT too! That rarely happens last semester!! Although I've taken more naps than last sem, I guess the main reason was the length of sleep at night. It's getting shorter and shorter. As I've mentioned in my "sleep" post, the sleeping cycle - Here

I have to change my bad habit. It was proven that sleeping after 11pm may do harm to your kidney and liver. Moreover, growth hormone is secreted at around this period. (=.=" I know I've already passed the growing period...) So, kids who are still growing, be sure you guys sleep before 11pm and do a lot of sports, or else you will be like me... T-T

Sob sob sob!!

Blood Test Results

After 2 weeks of waiting, I finally gotten my blood test results. In fact, the results came out last week, however, the doctor wasn't available to consult me, therefore, I've gotten it today. So... what's the problem now? Why do I have to go through all this kind of stuff just to do a simple blood donation? Sigh... Just for safety precautions to both me and the patient.

Results? Yes yes...
I was rather "normal". Meaning?
Blood glucose was fairly low, slightly lower than normal range.
Blood pressure was "normal". To tell the truth, it was within the low normal range.
Ferratin concentration was also towards the low normal range. Normal range was 25~200 and mine was 27. It's NORMAL, ok?
Kidney and liver was functioning properly. I don't know how on heaven they check it by blood test! Was it by measuring urea level? Anyway, yes, they are normal. Thank God.
What I'm proud of was my blood cholesterol level. It was below the normal range. Hahaha... The doctor was laughing when she saw it, saying, "well, your blood cholesterol is below the normal range, but this is a good thing, so don't worry about it."
Ok, these are the main thing she told me.

What about my ECG?
Oh dear, they are perfectly fine!

Who dares to say that I'm not healthy? I AM! <--- referring to you-know-who! (The person who talks so loud, saying, "Cindy is not healthy, cannot donate blood!")

Na~ I've got proof! I'm as normal as the others!

Sleep

SLEEP? Speaking of Sleep, OMG! I love to sleep. No sleep = torture for me!

So, let's begin with "What is sleep?"

Sleep is a periodic state of natural unconsciousness during which the brain's activity is not apparent. A sleeping person does not respond to low intensity sounds, touches, and other sensory perceptions that he or she would normally respond to immediately while awake.

Why do we need sleep?

Sleep helps the body restore and rejuvenate in many different ways...

  1. Memory, Learning and Social Processes – Sleeping enables the brain to encode new information and store it properly. REM sleep activates the parts of the brain that control learning. The parts of the brain that control emotions, decision-making and social interactions slow down dramatically during sleep, allowing optimal performance when awake.
  2. Nervous System – neurons used during the day repair themselves during sleep.
  3. Immune System – Sleep enables the immune system to function effectively. During deep sleep, the body's cells increase production while proteins break down at a slower rate. Without proper sleep, the immune system becomes weak and the body becomes more vulnerable to infection and disease.
  4. Growth and Development – Growth hormones are released during sleep, so sleep is vital to proper physical and mental development.

What are the stages of sleep?

There are five stages of sleep: stages 1, 2, 3, 4 and REM (rapid eye movement).

  • Stage 1 (Drowsiness) – We drift in and out of sleep for about 5 to 10 minutes and can be awakened easily. Our eyes move very slowly and muscle activity slows.
  • Stage 2 (Light Sleep) – Our eye movements stop and our brain waves become slower, with occasional bursts of rapid waves called sleep spindles. Our heart rate slows and body temperature decreases.
  • Stages 3 and 4 (Deep Sleep) – Slow brain waves begin to appear, interspersed with smaller, faster waves. By Stage 4 the brain produces delta waves almost exclusively. It is very difficult to wake someone during stages 3 and 4, which together are called deep sleep. There is no eye movement or muscle activity. People awakened during deep sleep do not adjust immediately and often feel groggy and disoriented for several minutes after they wake up. Some children experience bedwetting, night terrors, or sleepwalking during these stages.
  • REM Sleep – During REM sleep, our breathing becomes more rapid, irregular, and shallow, our eyes jerk rapidly in various directions, and our limb muscles become temporarily paralyzed. Our heart rate increases, our blood pressure rises. People dream during this stage.

The average length of time for a complete sleep cycle is 90-110 minutes. About 50 percent of sleep time is spent in stage 2 and about 20 percent in REM sleep. The remaining 30 percent is split among the other stages. On average, a person will cycle through the stages 4 or 5 times in an eight hour period. After a person falls asleep, the first REM sleep period generally happens 70-90 minutes later.

The first cycles of the night will tend to have shorter REM periods and longer periods of deep sleep. This trend reverses as the night goes on. The later cycles have longer REM periods and shorter deep sleep periods. By morning, most sleepers spend almost all of their time in stages 1, 2 and REM sleep with very little or no deep sleep (stages 3 and 4).

How much sleep do we need?

Each person’s sleep requirement is different. Some people find that they only need 5-6 hours of sleep, while others need 10-11 hours for optimal performance. The average adult functions best with 7-8 hours of sleep a night; however, it is important to consider how much sleep you need on an individual basis.

  • Infants and Children – Infants require about 16 hours a day. From 6 months to about 3 years, children’s sleep requirement decreases to about 14 hours.
  • Teenagers – Teenagers need about 9 hours of sleep a night. Sleep is crucial for teenagers because it is while they are sleeping that their bodies release a hormone that is essential during their growth spurt.
  • Adults – For most adults, 7 to 8 hours a night appears to be the best amount of sleep, although the amount ranges from 5 hours to 10 hours of sleep each day depending on the individual.
  • Pregnant Women – Women in the first trimester of pregnancy, and sometimes throughout pregnancy, need significantly more sleep than usual.

How do we know if we are getting enough sleep? How will sleep deprivation affect me?

Some of the signs that indicate you may need more sleep include:

  • difficulty waking up in the morning,
  • inability to concentrate,
  • falling asleep during work or class, and
  • feelings of moodiness, irritability, depression or anxiety.

Getting less sleep than needed can cause a “sleep debt” . A person can make up for missed sleep during a night by sleeping more the next night, or compensate for missed sleep during the week by sleeping more on the weekend. Getting the missed sleep is important because the body needs it to recover and restore itself. Generally, people who aren’t getting enough sleep show mental and physical signs of sleep deprivation during their waking hours.

When you don’t get enough sleep, several things can occur:

  • Impaired memory: Drowsiness during the day interferes with your brain’s ability to concentrate, learn and remember things.
  • Physical impairment: Simple tasks may prove more difficult to perform and complex tasks may become seemingly impossible.
  • Emotional response: You may become anxious, moody, and impatient, and notice increased difficulties during interaction and cooperation with others.

Severe sleep deprivation can lead to physical incapacity, hallucinations and mood swings. Proper rest supports the body’s ability to perform at its best whereas sleep deprivation impairs the body and mind, preventing optimal performance.

It is clear that sleep deprivation is dangerous –

  • Sleep-deprived people who are tested by using a driving simulator or by performing a hand-eye coordination task perform as badly as or worse than those who are intoxicated.
  • Sleep deprivation magnifies alcohol's effects on the body. A tired person who drinks will become much more impaired than someone who is well-rested.
  • Driving while drowsy can - and often does - lead to disaster because drowsiness is the brain’s last step before falling asleep. Fatigue is responsible for thousands of car accidents each year and probably many other types of injuries and deaths as well. Caffeine and other stimulants cannot overcome the effects of severe sleep deprivation.

Get what I mean people? Sleeping is important!! Sleep more!! *oink oink*

Hock Luck's 21st Birthday Party (Re-editted)

Reports! Argh!! After so many days of "not-enough-sleep", finally completed. Imagine a sleeping pig like me for not napping and sleep for only 8 hours for the past 48 hours...
Nevertheless, these aren't important and in fact not the main purpose of blogging too!

So, what is there for me to blog? It's a party in Morpeth, a Birthday Party in Morpeth for Hock Luck. It's not his birthday today but we've decided to celebrate earlier. Even Edison sacrificed his time with his girlfriend for Hock Luck. Of course he should! It's HL's 21st Birthday!!

I was told to cook honey lemon chicken. WHAT!?! Honey lemon chicken? I don't know how!! Honestly, I was really cracking my head, didn't know what to cook on this day. Since Jesselyn and sis-in-law suggested this, fine! I'll try doing it. It started with grocery on Thursday. Bought 2kg of chicken breast fillet. Oh, not to forget - lemons! Then I gotta wash, cut and mardinade the chicken while everybody elses are rushing their reports! And I'm one of those who hasn't finished!

On the day itself, I started preparing the food once I reached home from passing up the report. Can you imagine that took me 2 hours to finish deep frying those chopped chicken fillets? Furthermore, I've made a mess in the kitchen area. (Well, you know, deep frying stuff can really make a HUGE mess! Especially, the oily texture on the cooking utensil, the smell overwhelming my room.) Getting backache just by standing in front of the hot plate for 2 hours.

After all those preparations, we've gotta climb up the hill to Morpeth. Luckily the weather wasn't that cold. I was in fact very tired due to lack of sleep plus it's my most vulnerable day.

Sigh, what to do? It's Hock Luck's 21st Birthday. KEYWORD: 21st! Every person has only ONE 21st birthday and it's the day where one officially turns into a man/woman.

Was it a coincidence or was it fated? We invited many people but in the end, 21 turned up. 21 people celebrating HL's 21st Birthday? Cool!

What are the dishes?

  1. Vermont Curry & fried rice (By sis-in-law)
  2. Pasta (By Cheryl)
  3. Spring Roll (By Sze Yee & Ooi Min)
  4. Baked chicken (By Wen Ya)
  5. Faked Sharks Fin fried egg (By Jesselyn)
  6. Deep fried potato products (By Shook Hui & Tian Mun)
  7. Honey Lemon Chicken (By Cindy)
  8. Honey Soy chicken (By Woolworth??)
  9. Homemade birthday cake (By dai lou)
  10. Chips and drinks (By William, Edison and Mengkim)
  11. Curry (By Yee Man)

Erm, did I leave anything else out? There were a lot of SUPER NICE dishes! And everyone could not wait to dig in. Right after birthday songs and cutting cakes, everyone attacked as if they had not eaten for days! For me, this is the first meal of my day. 1st meal at 9pm??? Gosh, is this a breakfast for me?
Anyway, I'm glad everyone enjoyed the food, especially my honey lemon chicken. My very first time cooking this! OMG! I've given my first time to HL! No no no! To HL's 21st birthday! Heh!

Since Edison was asking what was my "secret recipe" in the "honey lemon sauce"...
I shall reveal it here...

  • full amount of patience
  • max limit of love
  • one life-time of waiting
  • a sincere heart

copyright reserved @ Cindy 2006.

Crap... this is so lame! I cannot believe that I actually make fun of myself for this... Back to serious business, the recipe was actually honey, lemon, water, sugar and Jesselyn's help.

Photo sessions were after the dinner. Hock Luck was just like a celebrity. What he has to do was just to sit at the same spot while everyone else line up one by one, waiting for their chance to take photo with this handsome.. er.. man?
We were suppose to play games after that, however, since time was running late, we called it a day. I shall end this blog with photos!

Nightmare!!

It was believed that a dream that is kept to oneself will come true. Since I don't want to let this nightmare come true, I'm gonna blog this out! Woke up with body full of sweat this late evening after passing up my report. This nightmare is nothing to do with vampires, zombies, ghosts, or whatsoever.

It started with myself walking back to bara. On the way back, I met Shook Hui at the carpark outside GP building (The route we always take to go for lessons and back home). She told me that she was going to find Tian Mun and asked me whether I wanted to follow her. But I told her that I was tired and wanted to go home.

The next scene skipped to a bus. The bus is not like the one in Newcastle. It was more like those in Malaysia. No air-con, dirty and cramp. It happened that we are going somewhere. The "we" includes Shook Hui, Tian Mun, William, Sein Hon, Hock Luck, Unknown Boy A, Unknown Boy B and myself. Why are they unknowns? Well, I don't know who they were but in my dream, it seemed that they were considered as close friends.

Next, it happened that we got our room keys. The only thing I could remember was that William said that their room was "No. 90". The odd thing was, after William finished his "lines", he was no longer in my dream. This includes Sein Hon as well. At this point, Jesselyn came into my dream. It was organised that Shook Hui and I shared one room while Tian Mun and Jesselyn shared another one opposite our room. Hock Luck, Unknown Boy A and B shared another one.

Well, next scene. I was in the room alone, digging into the wardrobe (it seemed that we have tonnes of clothes inside, in fact we did not bring any luggage to this trip). I was planning to get myself dressed up when suddenly I heard someone laughing, "Hahaha..." outside my window. For those who knows how Bara room looks like, there's a big window at the end of the room. In my dream, the window was as big as that except the window can be opened and there was flyscreen as well. I peeped outside the window. The sky was dark. I saw a man's figure but I couldn't recognise the person. THEN! Blackout suddenly! I screamed! I rushed out of the room and kept on knocking on Jesselyn's door. I was crying and crying and crying. But noone answered that door. A resident staying next to Jesselyn's room came out with an angry face, yet she helped me knocking on her door without saying anything. Recalling what William said before, "No. 90", I went to knocked on the door only found out that it wasn't the correct room. I was paranoid.
So I ran back to Jesselyn's room. Guess who I saw.
*Ta-Da*
Hock Luck!
I was panting and crying while telling him what had happened. So, he went into my room and check everything out. He peeped outside the window but found noone. He concluded by saying," Maybe you are just too tired. Go to sleep." I was very angry at that time, 'coz I'm very sure of what I heard and what I saw!

Next, the scene skipped back onto the bus where we are ready to go home. At this point, there's only 4 people left in my dream - Unknown Boy A and B, Hock Luck and myself. I fell asleep on the bus and missed my station. When I woke up, only Unknown Boy A and B was there.
I screamed, "OMG! I missed my stop! Where's Hock Luck?"
Unknown Boy A said, "Oh, he got off already."
"OMG! Why didn't he wake me up!?!" I shouted. Then started blaming him.
Unknown Boy B said, "Maybe he didn't know you are getting off at the same stop."
"Don't worry, I'll accompany you back to your place." said Unknown Boy A.
I was a bit relieved then. A few stops later, Unknown Boy B got off, leaving both Unknown Boy A and I on the bus. We got off at a stop right after that. He told me that he wanted to go home to take something and his house was very close to the bus-stop. (Apparently, I know this guy very well in my dream.) Thinking it should be fast, so I followed him.
This was the worst part of the dream.
I entered his house and sat there waiting for him. Suddenly, he wanted to do "something" to me. Erm... use your imaginations. So, I started struggling. However, I was too weak. I got pushed down on a couch. He started telling me to turn my head over to see something. Of course I didn't follow what he said. Suddenly, a voice strucked me! The laughter - "Hahaha" I heard outside my room!! I turned around, and found Unknown Boy B was there. I felt like vomiting! You know why? That guy dressed up as a girl. Do you guys remember my camwhore entry where Kim, Jess and I were in? That DISGUSTING fellow dressed up in red with a devil hairband on his head like what Jesselyn wore! *Faint*
"OMG! It was you!" I screamed.
What was the exact conversation, I can't recall.
I only remembered this part that both of the guys said, "你錯怪Hock Luck了..." (Meaning: you get Hock Luck wrong to be blamed.) The disgusting fellow showed me a video of Hock Luck being tied up with a rope in a store room.
What does that indicate? Hock Luck did not get off the bus without waking me up. He was "kidnapped"!!!
This is a weird part. It seemed that there was power overwhelming me. I break free from Unknown Boy A and started fighting with them. (You know, my taekwondo skills. Hehehe...) I don't know why I didn't apply my skills at the beginning but only apply it at this point. It's a dream, it will not make sense anyway.
Of course, in the end I managed to escape and woke up with sweat all over the body.

I know this is somehow funny when I'm describing but I swear it is not funny at all in my dream! Thinking of it makes me shiver!!

I realised something. Using Mozilla Firefox viewing my blog appears to be weird.

Blood Donation

I've been looking forward to this day. I want to donate blood. I want to make myself useful to the society. Ironically, I'm actually agliophobic. However, thinking that my 470cc of blood may save a life, I felt happiness overwhelming me! To donate blood, I did full preparation.

  1. Restful sleep (altogether 12 hours).
  2. Drank red date soup the night before.
  3. Breakfast - 2 slices of bread with a cup of milo.
  4. Lunch - a slice of "Apple and cinnamon Bread".
  5. I'm over 45kg.

Yet I'm not eligible? What!?!

The nurse said, "I'm sorry dar, I'm afraid that you might faint after the donation."

Why am I not eligible according to her...

  1. You need to drink at least 3 bottles of water before the donation.
  2. You had rashes for the past week.
  3. You had abdominal pain for the past week.
  4. You had a history of chest pain.

Ok, I admit that I did not drink 3 bottles of water beforehand, currently having rashes on my back and suffering from slight abdominal pain. As for chest pain, that was 10 months ago! Moreover, I did go to the hospital to do check-up. I did an ECG, ultrasound scan as well as x-ray! The doctor said I'm perfectly fine - having regular heartbeats, regular ECG patterns, healthy lungs and so on! "I'm a healthy baby" in short!

But... this nurse said, "You gotta get a letter from your doctor first dar."

OMG! Did she call me dar again? Yikes!
In the end, I left the blood bank with disappointment. Not to forget, Jesselyn, who was forced to join me, in the end, donated a packet of blood. BUT NOT ME!

PS. The doctor said the chest pain was due to stress by the way.

1 am @ Bara 112

It started with myself switching the lights off, watching Cadet Kelly - casting Hilary Duff. Everything went according to our plan. My mission was to pull off the tag at 12.30am. When it was time, I walked to the tag quietly, unfortunately, my roommate went to the toilet at the very same time. To relief her suspicious, I pretended to open my locker with my key then purposely made some noise as if I was slotting the tag back.
8 minutes passed by, the power was still on....
15 minutes passed by, the power was STILL ON!

*Pop*

Power went dead. As expected, Shook Hui was on msn. It was of course our plan. Tian Mun's mission was to drag her from opening the door. I pretended to open the door while switching off the switches both for the toilet & the room as well as slotting the tag back.

"OMG! I think whole Bara black out! Can you call Tian Mun and ask?" I screamed.
"What? Whole Bara no electricity? Ok ok! I'll call." Shook Hui answer anxiously.

Of course, our plan was to give her a surprise when she opened the door to check out how "bad" the situation was. I lured her to the door and that was where she fell into our trap. She screamed.
Kwang Hong was standing outside, holding a cake. That was when we started celebrating Shook Hui's Birthday!

Yup, it's her birthday today and we have been planning this since the beginning of the week. Recalling the night before, I have to sign this card for her in Jesselyn's room. However, she would smell something fishy if I just walked out of the room like that. So, what Jesselyn did was to tell Jun Shi to call me. The excuse to get out was, "I'm going to Jun Shi's room for a while."

Present Hunt
This activity has to be done without her presence in Bara 112. So, Tian Mun's mission was to lure her out to Kwang Hong's room while Serene, Jesselyn and I had to hide 9 presents...

We really have to give credits to the people who helped. Especially Jesselyn and Tian Mun, who had to pretend to be very free when they are super busy, cooking the dishes for her lunch.

4pm @ Bara 121

This is the only photo with 4 of us in, although it's not clear...

Lastly, Happy Birthday, My dear roommate!!

Fun in Morpeth

This day, sis-in-law invited us to her house to play Taboo. However, it seemed that it was a cold night and noone from Bara wanted to go out. In fact, I was thinking of not going as well, but I've already promised sis-in-law to bring "Haunted Mansion" to her at night, promised Wen Ya to pass her the photos and promised HL to pass him the photos as well as his HUBS2409 tutorial. So... off I went.
Mengkim, being so nice, told me he would wait for me at the river. "River"!?! It's just a stupid drain! Anyway, I cut into the short cut outside Edwards Hall towards the "river". I see noone. Where's Mengkim? Gosh! It was cold, it was dark and it was scary!! I was very tensed and kept on reciting my prayers until I heard someone talking. It was Edison and Mengkim's voice. I was sure.
Not long after, I see two figures crossing the so-called river. That was when we met up and headed towards Morpeth. Mengkim was complaining about how far he has to walk just to "teman" me. (Aww.. come on! You said you wanna lose weight! I'm indirectly helping you! =x) Climbing up Acacia Avenue wasn't an easy task. It was so steep that you might tumble down the slope if you slipped. Exaggerating. I know.

When we reached Morpeth...... Hmpff! Let me jump straight into the game shall I? Can't believe that I have such a long prologue. There were 8 of us and we splitted into two groups.
Red Miracle - Dai Lou, Kim Fei, Hock Luck and I.
Malou - sis-in-law, Wen Ya, Ooi Min and William.
Red Miracle? What Red Colour of Glory! NO MIRACLES AT ALL!
Red Miracle vs Malou = 35 - 53!
Get what I mean? We LOST! COMPLETELY!
It's just a game anyway. As long as we had fun, losing doesn't matter! =)

Recalling HL's word. Pointing at Wen Ya and Me. "Not you, not you, ME!"
Can you guys guess what word it is? I can!

*Innocent* is the word.

Why are Wen Ya and I "not innocent"?
Remember one of my previous post regarding Taboo in Morpeth? Yup, that time. Wen Ya, HL and I were in the same group. When Wen Ya got this word, she pointed at herself & me saying, "Me me me! You you you! Not Hock Luck!"
So... basically HL was taking revenge.........

After a few rounds of Taboo. We started with charades! The theme was "Movies"!
This time was the so-called "winner" & "loser" team. How does it come to this conclusion? There were 8 of us remember? 4 girls and 4 boys. We splitted into pairs and did a simple "scissors, paper, stone". Girls against girls, boys against boys. The "winners" are in one team while the "losers" are in another.
The winner team consists of sis-in-law, Ooi Min, Mengkim and Hock Luck.
The loser team consists of Dai Lou, William, Wen Ya and Cindy (That's me!)

My first movie was "Pearl Harbour". I haven't watched Pearl Harbour, therefore I couldn't act out any of the scene. What I could do was to act the "words" out. Pearl... doesn't seem easy. So, I changed tactics - Harbour. I "draw" a "harbour" which they thought was a box, and started fishing there. Luckily, Wen Ya was smart enough to get it.

One of Wen Ya's topic was "Indianna Jones". This Hock Luck always come out with weird weird titles. *piff* What Wen Ya did was she sticked out her "middle finger" trying to say the last syllabus of the first word - "na" (in Hokkien). The only person who speaks Hokkien, who was I, had to try to figure out. (BUT I DON'T KNOW!!!) So she changed to the first two syllabus. She was trying to say the 3 Housemates in Morpeth. She pointed at a "black" cover, trying to describe Indian. Smart enough, I said Indian. While Dai Lou screamed out "Indianna Jones"!! WooHoo!!
BINGO!

What's more? Kim Fei's Jeepers Creeper - with the very funny "Ahhh~~~" scary look. Hock Luck's Simply Irresistible - hugging himself, pointing at table and the simpsons poster. Ooi Min's Cheaper by the dozen - counting 12 eggs and eating chips. Dai Lou's Pocahontas - showing a big breast lady diving into water. William's Aeon Flux - which I still don't have a clue what he was doing. Sis-in-law's Gremlins - trying to say the word "lin", saggy breast in Cantonese. However, Kim Fei and Hock Luck who speak Cantonese couldn't get it. Not to mention those who doesn't speak Cantonese, like me.

It was seriously a wonderful night. Maybe we should have more of this kind of activities once in a while!

A Trip to the Blue Mountains

9 girls + 6 boys = 1 memorable trip

Yay! I finally get to have some free time blogging our trip last weekend - A Trip to the Blue Mountains. So, basically we have 15 people including myself in this trip - The 6 Barahinebans: Jesselyn, Serene, Jun Shi, Tian Mun, Shook Hui and I; The 2 Edwards: Kwang Hong and Sein Hon; The 2 Evatts: Vinora and Kimberly; The 3 Allowahs: Kim Fei, Edison and William and the 2 Morpeths: Wen Ya and Hock Luck.

DAY 1

It was kinda tiring catching the 4.56am train as the blur me has forgotten to bring my phone and the Allowahs & Morpeths nearly missed the train. Cut all those irrelevant stuff, we reached the Blue Mountains at 10am.

On the train. Yea, a pimple below my right cheek.

Erm.. pls look at the white colour hair band! That is the main character!!

A photo shows all, doesn't it?

First thing we gotta do... Buy "Day Pass"! Which was AUD15. Due to "unforeseen circumstances", we spent extra AUD12. Hahaha!! Actually, it's because we wanted to take the scenic ride - Railway and Flyway.
AUD15 day pass.

Add on AUD12 for scenic ride.

Next, to find our accomodation. I hereby apologise for being such a noob.
1) Can't find the place and brought everyone the wrong direction.
2) Don't even know the name of the backpackers. Well, found out - it's the Katoomba Mountain Lodge...

Doing the checking in...

Meanwhile a few photos were being taken.

Er.. one of the donno-what-cave! =p

Wen Ya and Cindy!! At one of the donno-what-lookouts.. =p

Leura Cascades!

After an hour plus of trekking, we managed to climb out to the main road. We are LOST! Although there was a sign board saying, "Echo Point: 1 hour 20 mins", it seemed that no one has the energy to continue walking except for Edison and me. It was a good thing to find a restaurant nearby to ask for directions. Yup, we were just 3 mins away from a trolley tour stop. 15 of us dragged our feet all the way up the slight slope and sat by the roadside.

After "Mountain Trekking"... Exhausted!

Look at us! 無家可歸似的!

My poor roommate who was cold and exhausted.

Tired! But still in mood for photo-taking!

Kwang Hong: 哼!Blue Mountain 算啥? 征服Blue Mountain 比征服素蕙的心容易多了!

Guess it's a tiring day for us. Not to forget our nice dinner at a nearby Thai Restaurant. 15 of us, 7 dishes, more than 7 buckets of rice! Gladly present our rice-eating-champion, EDISON Chen NOT! Edison So =p.

Dinner at Thai Restaurant. It's a rare thing to see Edison in photos.

After dinner, Wen Ya and I went back for a shower before joining the others in a coffee shop. Yea, I had organic hot chocolate while she had her own recipe - Honey Milk Shake. We have to stay awake, at least until 12am...
Why? 'coz... it's SEXY HU's Birthday on the 29th!!
Guess what we did. Play "Chor Dai Di"...
Results were as expected. Whenever I play with MengKim and Hock Luck, I will never get the chance to win! The game continues until 12am when the cake was brought in. Jess was dozing off on the couch, while Shook Hui & Tian Mun brought in the cake. It started with a "Happy Birthday song"... and ended with unfinished cake and laughters! =)
Our Birthday Girl - Sexy Hu
Happy Birthday Dear!

DAY 2

It was a cold night, yet I slept soundly. People who know me well should know how I sleep. Like what sis-in-law said, "睡豬!天塌下來也不會醒的!" That kind of person.
Anyway, it was another rushing day for us since two pigs - Sein Hon and William - woke up late. We were suppose to catch the 9.25am train yet they were still sleeping at 9!!! When we managed to hop onto the train on time, guess what we realised?
SEIN HON DIDN'T BUY TICKET!! (Katoomba is a small stop, therefore there's no scanner to scan our tickets.) So, 9 of us - Kwang Hong, Edison, Mengkim, Hock Luck, Sein Hon, Shook Hui, Tian Mun, Jesselyn and I - jumped off the train at the next stop. By the way, the other 6 were planning to go bondi. While waiting for the next train, Jesselyn suddenly realised that she was following them to Bondi. Oh no! That means the other 6 gotta wait for her at Central. Central is where we met up and where we parted. Cute Cindy (that's me) didn't want to go Bondi but wanna eat rice, in fact it makes no difference whether we are taking the same train or not, followed the Bondi group for chicken rice while the other 7 people went for "wan tan mee".
I was quite glad that I didn't join for noodles 'coz I heard from Shook Hui that there were prawns! Well, remembered I left my phone at home? Therefore, I gotta stick closely, VERY CLOSELY to Wen Ya. After meeting up with Tian Mun and Shook Hui, Wen Ya left for her friends' house while 3 of us walked around China Town until it was time to meet up with ALBERT WONG!
"ALBERT ALBERT ALBERT!!" I was singing his name secretly all the way!
Hahaha... what to do? Miss him so much and I haven't seen him for almost a year!!

I cannot believe that there was so many obstacles just to meet Albert!!!
The plan was: "Meet Albert at 5.30pm at Central."
When we were on our way to Central, Tian Mun called Jesselyn for confirmation.
But then, she said, "Meet Albert at Harbourside since he's taking ferry here."
Alright then, so we took the path to Darling Harbour.
Suddenly, Tian Mun received a call from Jesselyn.

*TaDa*

"Jesselyn said meet Albert at Circular Quay."
Wow... Circular Quay is like 20 mins walk! But, to meet Albert, even climbing 10 mountains I wouldn't mind! =p
Just then, when we were half way there, we received another call.
"Meet Albert at Harbourside foodcourt!"
"!@#%#$^%@$#@%#$^^##%@$#^@" <---- 8 of us started moaning... OMG! This is really OMG! I take back my words! I don't wanna climb 10 mountains! Anyway, since Jesselyn told us this was final, we hold on to our hope and dashed to Darling Harbour. After a long wait, Jesselyn called again, conducting the next step. Don't worry. It wasn't change of plan. She told us to meet at the foodcourt in front of Novotel. But... when we arrived... Albert was nowhere to be found. "I'm sorry. Albert is at Circular Quay now." "O_O WHAT!!" *faint* At the end, "meet at Chinatown". SET! We walked all the way back to Paddy's Market and waited for Albert. The meet up delayed from 5.30pm to 7pm... BUT! It worthed the waiting. We finally saw Albert dressed up expensively walking towards us with his friend, Melvin. We had our dinner at a nearby Chinese Restaurant and this was where our catching up took place as well as talking about our past events! Awww... Kwang Hong & Albert

William & Edison (Quite rare seeing them in photos)

New Rumours?

Dinner With Albert: Kim Fei, Jesselyn, Cindy & Hock Luck (Yea, I know! Albert is not in)

The two "si lai sa sau" =x

A must upload picture of Albert and Edison. Edison with his new leather jacket.

Group Photo taken with Albert.

Alright, that's all for the Blue Mountain trip. VERY TIRING, yet FUN!!
