Steamboat!!
Alright, sadly we did not take any picture for the steamboat dinner but we had great fun anyway!!
Early in the morning, mom and I were preparing for steamboat dinner tonight.
Cut all those non-important details, let's start with the dinner part.
Dai Lou and Sis-in-law came early to Barahineban when everyone wasn't ready yet. (The food was ready though)
Mom insisted on letting them eat first but they refused to.
So, we all waited for Jesselyn, Tian Mun, Serene and Jun Shi.
When most of us were here in Bara Room 112, I digged out the cucumber pickles from the fridge that mom made this morning as appetiser. Guess most, or in fact, all of us enjoyed it. I found it strange that no one was "attacking" the steamboat!!
So I asked, "Why aren't you taking the food?"
Serene answered, "Oh! The host hasn't taken theirs how can the guests serve themselves first?"
So I have to do the first move.
"Ok, this is seafood pot, that is non-seafood pot, so enjoy!" I giggled. =)
Everyone, except for me started to "attack" the seafood pot. Mom bought a lot of seafood ingredients from the Sydney Fish Market the day before. There was Squid Balls, Fish Balls, Prawns, octopus and many other seafoods!!
I was lucky 'cos I do not have to line up for it. I headed straight for the non-seafood pot, digging my favourite baby corns, mushrooms, chicken and soup!
Speaking of the soup, mom used lean pork to "bou" and she added some Japanese Fish powder. The soup is REALLY FABULOUS!!
Half way serving myself, Jesselyn, Tian Mun and Serene came to me. As a host, I shall serve them. I was digging into the pot, looking for corns, chicken, cabbages and other stuff. Hahaha... guess we all don't like celery...
Everyone was enjoying themselves. (& I hope they all did)
Yee Man came in late since she was on the phone with her mom, but she managed to catch up with us.
Steamboat is like a war, you need to fight for FOOD! If you come in late, you may have missed some nice juicy meat balls!! If you act too slow, you won't be able to eat what you wanted!!
Luckily, we actually prepared more than enough for all of us so that shouldn't be a problem.
Everyone was eating, talking, enjoying the "home-brand sauce"!! Yes, literally home-brand 'cos you won't be able to find it anywhere in the supermarket!!
While waiting for Shook Hui and the rest back from Sydney, we were all gossiping in the room. And I have no idea who came up with the idea of ghost stories!
GOSH!! Ghost stories!! How can I miss it?
Being a horror movies/ghost stories fan, I really have ALOT to tell!!
Just when we were beginning, my dear roommate came back with the rest. Therefore, we decided to save the best for later, after they finished their dinner.
Dai Lou, Sis-in-law, Jesselyn, Jay (my younger brother) and I went to Serene & Jun's room for the time being till they finished theirs. Jay grabbed a homebrand cheese twist up to Serene and Jun's room where everyone started munching even after the steamboat!! Jesselyn visited "youtube" and we started singing with the mvs!!
After making sure everyone is done with their food and Jun has taken her bath, we ran all the way down to my room to continue the ghost stories talk.
Wow!! I love this ghost stories session alot!!
Dai Lou told us Albert's ghost stories and of course I told a lot of ghost stories too!! (Well, I'm a ghost stories fan!! Can't help it!!)
Since Dai Lou and sis-in-law are walking back to Morpeth alone in the dark, sis-in-law suggested of having a joke session instead of continuing the ghost talk so that she can go back fearlessly...
This continues till 11.30pm.
It was late, and both of them have to leave too, so I sent them off at Bara entrance.
Hmm... I'm sleepy now, guess I shall stop here. (You can really see the final part of my blog is a bit "slacking" already...)
P.S. I touched the seafood pot accidentally. Got itchy rashes on my arms and ankles. Thankfully, I have Aristocort Cream!! It eased the itchiness at least. Although I can still feel some itchiness here and there... oh no!! I can feel it on my neck now!! I shall set off for applying more cream!! Cya guys!! Goodnight!!
