Gold Coast
So I was away from Newcastle to Brisbane for 5 days...
Our destination was Gold Coast actually but the air ticket to Gold Coast was at least double the price to Brisbane when we bought the tickets. Funny huh? It's just an one-hour-train ride apart but such a great difference in the price. The adventurers include Fritz, Yu Wooi, Michelle, Sim, KB and me. Too bad that HL didn't join. Anyway, he will be going there with his parents during Christmas break, enjoying a different form of "fun".
Day 1. Brisbane
Our flight was 2pm... but we left home very early ~ 9.45am. HL "intentionally" woke up and send us off (not true). When 6 of us reached the Newcastle domestic airport, the Jetstar counter was not even opened! You know, kiasu people like us want to be the first one to check in. The counter opened after a short waiting time and any outsiders can see 6 kiasu Chinese rushing to the counter. This is when we found out that actually angmous are also very kiasu. At least we followed the line into the counter unlike this granny who cut into the counter from the side. No, she did not cut queue. She was just smart enough to take the shortest route to the counter before us.
Day 2. Gold Coast - Movie World
We left Brisbane YHA early in the morning, taking the first train down to Gold Coast. Everyone rushed to the nearest train station at Roma Street. The journey was about 1 hour and piggy me (as usual) slept nearly throughout the journey. Even KB was very impressed in how I could sleep in such difficult position (sleeping dead on my right arm), without any complaints of pain. In fact, it did hurt a lot when I woke up but not when I was asleep. =p
Once we reached Gold Coast, we headed straight to our booked apartment at Broadbeach. The apartment was superb... look at the photos and you will know what I meant.
Day 3 - Sea World
Woke up early for our next destination - Sea World. Everyone was well-prepared for the upcoming challenge.
Day 4 - Dream World
The final Theme Park of our trip - Dream World! This day, there were unusually a lot of people... we found out those kiasu angmous were already waiting outside! Dang! I thought we are Kiasu enough!! After Su Pin arrived, we rushed in...
Day 5 - Brisbane Domestic Airport
On Day 4 itself, 6 of us travelled up to Brisbane again. KB was staying for a few more days and continue with his Australia tour to Cairns, Melbourne, etc while the 5 of us overnight in the Brisbane domestic airport. Yeap, and that's about it... Everyone was DEAD TIRED but it was a memorable trip. =)

My bed for two nights
After putting our luggages in our apartment, we took the shuttle bus to movie world...
Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster
Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster was awesome... 4 of us were in one car and we cannot see where we were going because we were in total darkness... correct myself, almost total darkness... Every second was full of surprises, such as travelling backwards, going upwards... It was simply awesome! Next, we also went for the 4D Shrek show about how Shrek and Donkey saving Fiona from the stupid dead king spirit... It was GREAT! Having water splashing out onto your face when Donkey sneezes, the feeling of spiders crawling on your neck *shiver* and more...
Shrek 4D cinema
After the Shrek 4D show, we went for the police stunt show. There are only 2 shows per day! We cannot miss it!! It was so good that I couldn't use any words to describe it but to say "GO WATCH IT YOURSELF"!! Ok ok... I'll just upload some catchy photos...
More Parade Characters
Check this out!
*Ta-Da* This is the Lethal Weapon
Check this out!
The prior two extreme rides - BatWing and Superman could not satisfy the 3-thrill-seekers - Fritz, Yu Wooi and KB. So, they headed to the Lethal Weapon... The height and speed are both to the extreme category... *Salut*
*Ta-Da* This is the Lethal Weapon
Surprisingly, all these could not satisfy our thirst and hunger for excitements. We ended up taking rides at the kids section...
Day 3 - Sea World
Woke up early for our next destination - Sea World. Everyone was well-prepared for the upcoming challenge.
The view from the seahorse part II
Of course we could not miss the Seal show and the Dolphin show! (Although I have already watched it so many times in other places - Singapore, HK, Taiwan...) BUT! Their shows are very special. It is different from the other shows that I have watched. For the Seal show, it should be called a play to be exact. A play of the seal being an inspector and how it arrest this guy... The dolphin show was magnificent too! It shows how beautifully the dolphins dive and more! Once again, "GO WATCH IT YOURSELF"!! Worth watching!
She was bounced up by the dolphins
After completing all the non-waterpark component, we headed to the water park for more fun! Five storey high slides, snake slides, water fight, etc.
Exhausted...
At night, we went to the one and ONLY ONE Versace Hotel as well as into the Jupiters Casino to take a look.
Day 4 - Dream World
The final Theme Park of our trip - Dream World! This day, there were unusually a lot of people... we found out those kiasu angmous were already waiting outside! Dang! I thought we are Kiasu enough!! After Su Pin arrived, we rushed in...
I swear I am innocent!
Went for shows too - Spongebob square pants - A-must-not-miss-show according to Yu Wooi
Self-taken group photo
The 5 thrill rides in Dream world - The Giant Drop, Tower of Terror, Cyclone, Wipeout and The Claw. We did not have enough time for all the rides but we managed to get on 3 of them - Tower of Terror, Wipeout and Cyclone. Tower of Terror was unexpectedly fun! I was screaming my heads off when the "train" started immediately at 157 kmph but ended up finding it fun when the "train" stopped at an altitude of 120m and free fall back down. Queuing up for cyclone was a pain in the arse. We waited for nearly ONE HOUR! ONE FREAKING HOUR! And the ride was only 2 minutes? Or even less! Wipeout was fun too. We were securely locked onto our seats and hanged up high mid-air, turned and twisted. Initially, I was so freaked out by how it goes when watching the others screaming heads off during the ride but when I actually got onto it, it was not as scary as I have expected. What's more? I find it ADDICTIVE and FUN!
Tiger island - tiger show
We also went for the log ride... The ride known to make people VERY VERY wet...
The consequences...
Our final ride was the motor coaster... It was funny that this angmou before me was too big size to fit into the motorbike. Two staffs tried really hard to get him in, but the rider ended giving up. Let's not talk about the big size angmou, even KB felt pain while riding the bike. What I'm prompting is that the seat is not big.
Just so random
As you can see my blog is getting shorter and shorter on my trip... I'm lazy!! Gosh! I've been spending nearly the whole day blogging ok?
