Sydney... Again...

It started with Edison asking if we wanted to go Sydney last weekend (26th July). After a long and lame conversation, the "Sovereign Warriors" gang decided to pay Sydney another visit! Our main schedule was:
  • Dim Sum for brunch
  • Karaoke
  • Max Brenner
  • Japanese Cuisine for dinner
I contacted our friends down in Sydney - Jesselyn, JuJu and Eng Juin, inviting them to join our fun. Unfortunately, Jesselyn's friend came all the way from Tasmania to visit her, so she couldn't make it. As for JuJu, her reply was, "I don't think I can wake up. But I'll join you for dinner!!" Eng Juin was also busy but he said he could join us once he settled whatever he has to do. Other than the Sovereign Warriors, Edison also invited Fritz and Sze Yee, but they couldn't make it because they were busy. Nevermind, we can have all the fun!! *Hehe* Early morning, HL and I walk to Civic station just to find out that the ticket machine does not work! So, we went to the counter (which doesn't sell train tickets... how lame!) and ask what we should do.

The man said, "You can purchase your ticket at your destination."

"What if someone came on to check the ticket?" We asked.

"Don't worry about that! They all know this machine is out of order." He replied.

However, he doesn't sound convincing at all!! So we decided to call KH who was waiting at the Hamilton station to purchase the ticket for us. And he did. We met up with the other three on the train and begin our "cho dai di" tournament. Initially, everyone else kept on winning, except for me. Although I didn't win, I didn't lose either. Always come second or second last. Half way through, HL left the game and William joined in. Initially, William was in his luck. However, after a few rounds, I started winning... and this continued until we reached Sydney Central. This made Edison very frustrated since he has been shuffling since then. Aiyo... come on! It's just a game! Why so serious? *Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha*

Once we reach Central, we rushed to a Chinese Restaurant called Zilver for yam cha. We got a sucky corner seat but this didn't stop the waiter/waitress from ignoring us. They came to us, offering a variety of dim sum and they were fabulous! They were very friendly too! When we rejected some of the dishes, they still walk away with a smile. Then we started comparing this restaurant to the others that we have been to. We were saying that "bla bla bla" restaurant has some arrogant waiter/waitress. For example, when we turned down on their food, they will show impatience and frustration. No offense, but we came to a conclusion, Chinese Restaurants with a Chinese Boss have friendly waiter/waitress. Chinese Restaurants with a Hong Kong Boss have arrogant waiter/waitress. I know there may be some exceptions but so far this is our experience.

After dim sum, we headed to Capitol Square for karaoke. It was AUD12.00 per 2 hours + 1 free drink. This is when Eng Juin joined in. It wasn't as good as the one in Malaysia but at least they still have a list of songs that we wanted (Of course, some that we wanted but they don't have). We were so excited and started singing till heads off. After 2 hours, we were still not satisfied so we extended for another 2 hours. When time was up, we still have 30+ songs in our waiting list! Gosh, this was definitely not enough! We should go to Red Box when we fly back to Malaysia and sing until sore throat! Hahaha!!

According to our schedule, our next destination was Max Brenner. Basically, I was the one who was craving for Max Brenner Belgian Waffles. The guys were just there to accompany me. *touched* It was at least 20 minutes walk from Capitol Square okay? And William was carrying a 22 inch LCD monitor all the way. What was cruel for him was that, after finishing Max Brenner, we have to spend another 20 minutes walking back to Market City for our dinner. Sorry loR. *bow*

This is when we met up with JuJu for dinner at a Japanese Restaurant called Menya. They served a variety of Japanese Bento. I wanted to order the Unagi Box but HL also wanted that. After a small discussion, I ordered the Tori Katsu-miso Box and he ordered Unagi Box, so we can share. Honestly, the Unagi Box taste so much better. Other than rice boxes, they have ramen boxes too. They even had this super gigantic ramen which was 2kg worth of ramen. If you managed to finish that bowl of ramen within 30 minutes, you get it absolutely free. However, if you did not finish the ramen within the time limit, the ramen will cost you AUD29.95.

After dinner, we walked around in Central for a while longer before we headed back home. On the way back, we were back to the "cho dai di" tournament. I won my last game and left the game half way, because I was too tired to carry on. The boys continued playing until we reached Newcastle, while I slept throughout my journey. *Haha* Tired ma...

There goes another day... a day trip... in Sydney.
